Bengali Mutton Curry with North Indian Touch

One of the best foods in the world is Bengal Mutton Curry.Bengali's have long fascination for potato and they put it into anything. I was in North India for 6 months and Bengalis over there have improvised upon it.Let's go directly into cooking.

Ingredients

1. 500 gm mutton well washed.
2. 4 medium sized potatoes peeled and cut in half.
3. 4 large sized onions peeled and cut into small pieces
4. Garlic  ginger paste as per requirement.
5.  Shimla mirch 30 gm
6. Jeera teaspoon
7. 4 green chillies paste
8. 4 dry chillies
9. Salt as per taste
10. Mutton masala
12. Garam masala
13. Haldi medium teaspoon
14. Chilly powder teaspoon
15. Dry Dhania powder teaspoon
16. Mustard oil
17. Two tomatoes

Process

1. Wash mutton pieces carefully and mix it with salt, haldi powder, mustard oil and keep it marinated for one and half hours.
2. Heat the pan, pour mustard oil and deep fry the potatoes first.Sprinkle little salt over it while frying
3. Take out the potatoes.Add jeera and dry chillies to tha pan and then add onions.Fry the onions till it becomes brown.Add garlic ginger paste and fry till the bottom of pan becomes little sticky.
4. Add haldi,dhania,chilly powder to the and shimla mirch to the mixture. Pour little water till it becomes a paste.
5. Add mutton pieces to the pan and mix it properly with paste.
6. Add tomatoes after the mutton releases oil and mash it.After that put potatoes in the mixture.
7.Put a lid on the pan and let the mutton cook (you can use pressure cooker too).
8. 5 minutes before being complete add mutton and garam maala powder.
 9. Serve.
